Support After a Cancer Diagnosis

When your pet is diagnosed with cancer, it can feel overwhelming.

Receiving that news

Hearing the word cancer about a much loved pet is frightening.

Many owners tell us they leave the consultation with questions they didn’t think to ask at the time or simply needing someone to help them understand what comes next.

You are not expected to navigate this alone. We are here to help you make sense of the information you’ve been given and to support you as you consider the next steps for your pet’s care.

OncoTails provides specialist veterinary oncology advice to help you and your vet make confident, informed decisions about your pet’s care.

Helping you understand what comes next
We work alongside your own veterinary practice to support you after a diagnosis, helping you understand your options and what they may mean for your pet and your family.

The depth of OncoTails support:

Sometimes the most helpful thing is simply having time to talk things through with someone experienced and specialised in cancer care.

You can contact us directly or speak with your vet first — whichever feels easiest

Specialist advice from a recognised veterinary cancer expert

OncoTails advice is provided by Dr Sarah Mason,

a veterinary cancer specialist with advanced international qualifications in oncology.

She is double board-certified in medical and radiation oncology, meaning she has completed specialist training and examination at the highest recognised level in two separate areas of cancer treatment.

She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (FRCVS). This is one of the highest professional honours awarded to veterinary surgeons in the UK in recognition of outstanding clinical expertise and contribution to the profession.

Support that fits around your pet and your vet

OncoTails does not replace your veterinary surgeon.

Instead, we provide specialist oncology input that supports the plan already being made for your pet. This means your pet continues to receive care from the team who know them best, while you gain access to additional expertise when you need it.

Many owners find this reassurance makes decisions feel clearer and less overwhelming.

Cancer care is not only about treatment plans.

It is about comfort, wellbeing, and making decisions that feel right for both you and your pet.

Some families choose active treatment.
Some choose monitoring and supportive care.
Others want guidance on keeping their pet comfortable for as long as possible.

All of these are valid choices.

We are here to help you understand them.
